D.T.L.O. Tommy, My 12/12/12.

How to even explain my day and a bit in Dublin which isn't even over yet...
Firstly I almost missed the bus to Dublin and made it with seconds to spare and then ended up not having to pay for my ticket. Handy. When I get to Dublin I had to wait an extra hour from when the buses where meant to start and they actually did! I then asked the bus driver to tell me when DCU was and kept asking how much longer then he 'forgets' to tell me and If I hadn't noticed he probably would have left me stranded in Ballymun! Because the fool of a driver forgot to drop me where I needed to be I had to walk to the Helix when I decided to take a short cut which ended up maybe saving me about 20 seconds if I went the normal way and while this was happening I was making constant phone calls to Alan who was still asleep as it was around 6 in the morning.
When I finally get to the house I sit up with Alan talking about nothing and everything and I called Claire, who also goes to DCU, to come to Alans house and hang out. She was too busy so we go and hang out in the Hub and end up seeing Claire coming and try to open the door which she did successfully until about 2/3s of the way which it jammed and me and Alan where in stitches laughing at her who had not seen us at this moment and when she did she was even more embarrassed. ha! Me and Alan ended up sitting in the Hub selling tickets to the Yule Ball (A dance held by the Harry Potter soc) the next day and Alan leaves me for 10 minutes to get his hair cut and just as he is coming back people are asking me questions. I do not go to DCU and I am unable to attend the Yule Ball and I know very little about it and just as he walks over to me a group of three lovely people ask us a question which I would not have known the answer!

After this I got Starbucks to waken me up and fill me up a bit. The man who served me gave me the wrong drink but I didn't complain but I know I said a different flavour he was foreign, tired and very busy so I just took my drink and tried to drink it which usually would take me about 10 minutes at most took me the best part of an hour and a half and I threw the last 1/4 away. I also got a couple of cupcakes and a mince pie from a booth next to the Yule Ball table that was raising money to build wells in Africa while playing Christmas songs which at one point got changed to Dizzee Rascal which was a bit of a change to say the least but was put back to Christmas songs within a minute of the Dizzee song. I also bought two books and got a free bun with my purchases which I gave to Claire. I will talk more about the books later.**
I also got to see Claires apartment. It was nice :)
I then went to Alans study group which was closes followed by getting ready for Florence and downing a can and a half of energy drink and getting changed and then we went back to meet Claire and get the bus into Dublin city centre. The walk out to the O2 from O'Connell street is a very long walk and it took us so long! When we got there there was barely anybody there which we found weird. We queued and then we went into the priority queue and thanks to the gracious guy in front of me who kept me warm. hahaha, that sounds really weird but all that happened is I leant against his back to stay that tiny bit warmer!
Inside the concert we where all together and there was a lot of lovely people around us and Haim started and I had never head of them and they where so good! The bassist really looked like one of my friends, Shannan, and they where the only warm up band and they did a really good job! Florence came on what seemed like hours after Haim finished though and she came out with an unreal costume of a clown and her band where all fantastic (like normal) but they where dressed really well too! The pianist and the guitarist where my favourite costumes. They had such a good set like always! I really really didn't expect them to play Kiss With A Fist but omg when they did the crowd went mental! Such an electric atmosphere and apart from one girl (who pretended her friend was sick and about to pass out to try and get past us) the crowd was awesome. Okay, the reason I know that she was just trying to get past us was that as soon as we did move she said "score, I got to the front" and then me and this random guy on the other side of me pushed her back and she stood behind me bitching about me and the guy on the side of me to one of my good friends, Andrew, who then told us what she was saying after. I mean, what a bitch!
At one point Florence and Isa start rough housing and started rugby tackling each other and then went and jumped into the crowd and crowd surfed! What a hero! Sadly me and my friends where too far away from her to actually touch them but the it was still so awesome to see her doing it. She looked like she was going to cry so many times. It must be so emotional for her with it being the last Ceremonials gig ever and when she was saying goodbye and good night to us she was joined on stage by Haim and loads of people from back stage, like her team, all dressed in costume.
After the concert we went into Dublin City centre and went to Temple bar to a place called Madonnas. It was good for drinks and it was pretty good for music, better than many places actually but the place was tiny, packed to the brim with people, and was laid out weirdly like the toilets where right next to the DJ booth and the main entrance led straight to the dance floor and it was also the right between the two bars so it was people coming in, dancing and walking to the bar all in such a small, tight, cramped space. We left early as nobody was drinking any more and then we went to McDonald's and got a taxi home and nothing really happened after that. Ha. I hope you enjoyed reading this, like always leave me some feed back if you enjoyed it :)

** The books I bought were Terry Pratchett's Hogfather and The Man In The High castle by Philip K. Dick
and when I have read them I shall review them :)

Craft Fair.

Today my mother and I went to an craft fair in a local theatre. An Grianan
I knew that the craft fair, like every other, would be aimed at the next major holiday or at women but I went anyway.
It was good, I bought a pair of earings for my mother and she bought a couple of pieces of pottery for christmas presents for

a few people. The stalls where all fantastic and we had a really nice time. I didn't think to get any photos of anything until after but thats life for you, Always bringing you smart ideas after it's too late to do anything about them. HA!
We also decided to go to the next one in a couple of days in Rathmullan House and see if they have anything new. We did enter

a competition to win these awesome teddy bears but we don't find out until the 20th or something which is cool.

A Catch Up Of Sorts.

So I have not updated this in months and well I have had so much to actually tell you guys over the last couple of months but now half of them are unimportant now. Sucks, I like to try to keep an account of things but Its hard when you're Internet is as bad as mine and I'm sick so often right now because of how cold the apartment is.

Since I last updated I moved out of my house for the first time! I moved out on my house mates birthday October 5th and in the last two months we've been getting to know each other more. I've been told that I'm in a bad mood often and that I get clean too much! By this he means I leave the stuff for about a week then clean everything in one foul swoop and by the bad moods is usually he tries to make me do something I don't to do and I get annoyed because I hate it when people try to twist my arm into doing something.
I will not post the conversation but my house mate just kept picking at it and picking at it and I was just saying that I didn't want to go out and well he made me say what he wanted me to say which I know isn't true but I honestly think it's what he things I mean/ meant. "I just don't want to drink with you" and it's really annoying.

On a happier note I visited Galway to see two of my very good friends and catch up. It was fantastic, we ended up drinking a lot which isn't really my thing back when I was younger I would go hard for days on end but after a couple of months of it being the same story every night, same people and same hangover it really wasn't worth it. So I cut it down for now to save money (not that I ended up saving any since I was in Galway) and because it became boring. But Galway was so fantastic. Hopefully going back soon so then I can actually document it a bit better. ha!

Last weekend we went out for a good friend of mines 21st. It was so awesome. He has such awesome friends and I love them :D They said to hang out with them more so next I must. Wouldn't want to insult them. Before the party we where hanging out and Kevins old house with his old house mates and watched the Digimon movie and then Rent which was then followed by Mean Girls. Three really good movies. We then went to this dive of a night club but it wasn't open to the public so it was awesome! I got over charged which wasn't cool and then my drink got stolen which really isn't cool.

and the last thing I think is still important to inform you, my awesome readers is that I'm drinking a warm sugary tea and I have a hot water bottle. I am really living the high life right now. The only thing that could make it better is if I had a biscuit or cake right now.

Class

I got to hang out with two of my very good friends last night and we watched a classic 80s movie called Class.
It is so good. It took us so long to watch the movie because we had to pause it so much because we kept talking over it and missing crucial moments catching up since we have not really hung out in about 2 months.

Perks Of Being A Wallflower

I just finished reading the Perks Of Being A Wallflower and I loved it. I like the way the book is wrote too the reader. I actually felt like part of the book and as the characters developed as the story went on I felt like the reader was starting to really open up.
I have seen a clip of the movie with Sam and Charlie talking and I really hope that Emma Watsons accent isn't that bad all the way through... I know they live in Philly but still :P
My favourite part about the book was when Charlie and Patrick are on the gold course and drinking wine and laughing. It is something that me and my friends would do and when I was reading that part it made me really really happy. I also really like the way he didn't say what happened to his aunt for ages and when he finally told us it felt like he was ready but my most favourite part was that the story didn't really end. Sam was coming back, we have no idea what happened to Brad or if him and Patrick would ever get back together or if his brother ever did make it big. I really liked that because I hope it did all work out for the best and not knowing is kinda bitter sweet. I want to know because I hope everything worked out but I don't want to know because I like being able to imagine what they are doing now.

I didn't really have a least favourite part of the book. It is a very good book and I would recommend it all of my friends :D

A lot of travelling& drinking

Belfast was so much fun, we left Letterkenny early and got a lift from Andrew, who was also giving Alan a lift, to Derry. In Derry we met a frantic Claire and a calm Fiona waiting in front of a bus and we bought tickets and we where on our way to Belfast.
The bus journey was fun. The horn of Gondor was back and Fiona Burke who I trusted decided to make me feel all the feels by asking me what I would do if Liam Payne deleted his twitter. To which I couldn't speak and couldn't look at her for a good couple of minutes.
When we arrived in Belfast we went straight to subway since we where all starved and then only me, Claire and Andy bought stuff. I gave my cookie to Alan because he looked like he was going to die. ha! While in Subway Claire, the monsterus bitch, decided she wanted to attack me by telling me she hated on Tom Daley which would have been grand if she had not already decided she hated 4/5 members on One Direction. So we all gave her hate for it.
Disclamer we do not hate Claire and we are not those crazy massive scary fans of One Direction but we do like 1D a lot. ha!
After Subway we went to try and find our way to the Ulster Museum which caused a lot of google maps and asking people directions. We eventually found it. It was great craic! Even though Fiona told us how easy it was to get seperated and lost in the museum we ended up breaking into two groups. Me and Andrew who wanted to see everything and Claire, Alan and Fiona who just wanted to see the art. Me and Andrew almost ran through every room trying to see as much as possible as quickly as possible. I don't know what Claire, Alan and Fiona did but I assume they just looked at a few things then went up to the art.
When me and Andrew finally got to the art at the very top of the museum we ran into Claire, Alan and Fiona as soon as we walked through the doors but just before we walked through those doors some guy was looking and me and Andrew and saying things to his friends about us so I decided to wave to be a polite bitch. Which I did and as my hand was coming back down it caught on the side of the glass barrier to stop being falling from the top floor to the enterence floor and it took off a small chunk of skin which bled and bled and bled so I had to go down to the reception on the bottom floor and get a plaster and clean up the cut. I am such a idiot. Ha! After I got the cut sorted we finally got to go in and see the art. Di Vinchi is amazing don't get me wrong and I understood why it was so dark in the room of his sketches but they where sketches of his lesser known but still amazing work. The biggest down side to his exebition was there was only a couple of sketches which was disapointing. I expected there to be twice as many sketches.
So after we left the Di Vinchi room we went out and filled out a comment card. I started to write it but then Alan had to take over becuase the cut was on my left hand and I am left handed. We wrote about how there was an error in the spelling and how it was a good exibition but it could have been better! And to make it all worse there was no 'other comments' area on the comment card. I was not impressed so we wrote on the other side of the sheet about it and our other faults with the exitibiton.
As we left the museum we went to the gift shop like every other person where leaving an exhibition.
we saw some cool and frankly over priced stuff in there. I didn't get anything. The only person who did was Andrew who bought one of those cups kids have. The ones with the straw built into it.

After the museum we could finally go shopping. After walking around Belfast for what seemed like a year to find Victoria Square we finally found it. I got some really cool things like a really hypster hat from Topman as well as shirt from there. I also got two shirts from Urban Outfitters. I top saying LA with astec print inside the L and the A and a Saved By The Bell shirt. one of the whole gang. I already had a Kelly shirt from when I was in Dublin last time. I spent around 40 euro on it then and now it was down to 10pound about 2 months later! oh well, I guess that's life.
I was really disappointed with H&M. It is one of my favourite shops and it was so poorly laid out and the stock was literally all over the shop. I got a pair of mustard braces which when my friend described them to me I thought they sounded disgusting but they actually where really really nice so I bought them.

I also bought my friend Caoimhe a picture frame from UO as a late birthday present. It was really pretty. She put a picture of her and her boyfriend in it and it looks so cute.

After shopping I got Pizza Hut and we where then racing to try and get a bus we had no hope of getting. so we ran around Belfast looking for it. We missed it and then we had an hour wait to get the next one but it was lucky because it gave us a chance to relax and a chance for me to eat my pizza in peace :P I gave Alan a slice and it had prawns on it. Alan had never tried prawns before this and he liked them. :)
We got the bus back and we sat at the back of the top deck and began talking about how many people we had shifted and just generally catching up. It was a fantastic trip and when we got back Fiona was picked up and me, Clare, Alan and Andrew went off to Claires house where we stayed and watched Mean Girls which Andrew was so against and now loves.
In the morning we started to watch St. Elmos Fire but the start of the movie we couldn't hear because Alan and Claire spoke through it about how Claire was Wendy. Claire hates Wendy even though she's awesome. Then when we started to watch the movie Andys mom shown up to give me, Andrew, Alan and Chris (Claires brother) a lift into town. When we got into town we dropped Chris off and me and Alan stayed in to help Alans mom lead her cookery course. Which was awesome. I did a lot of washing up! ha! I got to eat so many cookies too which is always a plus.

After the cookery course it was straight to the bus stop to get the bus to Kerrykeel to visit Caoimhe and give her her present. (which I only then remembered I had left in the book of Andys car and Andy was not coming) It was me Claire, Alan and Caoimhe in Kerrykeel. We played a couple of car games. got very drunk and ended up have massive DMC's about everything. We cooked casadias. They where amazing :)

All in all we had a good trip.

Monday 30 July 2012

Tom Daley and Pete Waterfield.

So the mens 10meter syrcro diving started earlier today and they started out really well with being at the top of the table for the first three dives and then they both screwed up their 4th dive and pete had a lot of splash in their 5th dive put them down into 4th and that is where they stayed sadly enough.

Thursday 26 July 2012

So it's gone and well after seeing it out of my mouth after the surgery I can honestly say good riddance. From the angle I was looking at it from the reflection in the mirror it looked okay but from the other side it was terrible and I'm glad it's gone before it got really bad.
So yesterday wasn't that bad. I was super high and was completely irrational. I also made my parents into my slaves for the day because the dentist said you can't do any form of exercise! Even walking wasn't aloud if it could be helped. :D ha, that was awesome. I sound like such a douche!

Tomorrow is an 80s cocktail night and I am so psyched.

Tuesday 24 July 2012

About loosing something dear to me.

I have a pit in my stomach and no apatite because tomorrow is going to be probably the worst day of my life to date and I know that makes me sound like a complete an utter tool even before I say it's something superficial like having a tooth removed. I have to have my upper left canine removed. See I have a fear of the needles so going to the dentist always sucked and they always hated me but I do have good dental hygiene but this tooth was cracked and because I never got it fixed it ended up getting worse and worse until now that it has to be removed.
The worst part of the removal is that I have to have a needle before he can do any work so I am terrified that  I am going to see the needle and freak out like last time. I actually hate that I have this phobia and that I act like a 7 year old when I'm 21.
My friends will be supportive but I will never be able to smile normally unless I get a fake tooth put in... and what makes this all worse is that my parents are paying for it because I have not had work in nearly 5 weeks which is actually killing me. All of my savings are gone and I am back to relying on my parents again which is crazy because I personally believe that once you're over 17 you shouldn't get pocket money. I mean have some form of job to give you something but that is a different topic all together

It was awesome getting it off my chest. Comments are always welcome. <3

Flo

I seen Florence & The Machine this weekend.
She was flawless like always, getting the crowd excited straight away and wearing something amazing like always.

She came out to "Only If For A Night" which is one of my favourite songs. She played all her biggest songs off Ceremonials and Between Two Lungs. All of the songs she played where these (not in order)

  • Comic love
  • Dog Days
  • Rabbit Heart
  • Only For A Night
  • What The Water Gave Me
  • Shake It Out
  • Never Let Me Go
  • Heartlines
  • Spectrum
  • No Light, No Light
  • leave my body
  • Black Velvet Chorus.
I was on the big screen for Cosmic Love! My friend was holding up her sign for "We Heart Florence and the Machine" and since I was standing next to her I was on the big screen loads. I am wearing the mirrored sunglasses and black Flo tshirt.

I am also the one who started the one more tune accidentally. I meant to just like say it to my friends and people around me heard me and started to chant it and the whole crowd started. It was kind of funny.

<3 like always feedback is always loved :)

A weird dream.

My dream last night.
It was the end part of the dream that matters because the other parts are not that important like running around NYC while it's raining but this dream we where in Niall Donnerz house pre drinking, Me, Niall, Andy and Alan, when Niall's mom walks in and starts complaining about Niall's posters so Niall says he'll take them down tomorrow and she's like do your friends have posters on their walls? I was like 'yes' since I do. She wasn't impressed.
She then leaves the room and we're like whatever lets continue drinking. :P She comes back in and starts saying that she was told by Alan and Claire that if they use mixer high in Transfats they get drunk quicker and she was trying to get a rise out of one of us but we're all just leaving her. She leaves but stands in the hall and talks to Niall when I say to how cheeky she was, while we're still in earshot of her, to Andy. She starts complaining at me about how Alan was the one that said it (about the trans fats not the cheeky comment)  and that she's not and how she's just quoting him. I walk out so I'm face to face with her and start talking about how it's still cheeky even if you're just quoting somebody and how it's so silly that an old woman is trying to get a rise from people who in there late teens / early 20s.
She walks down the stairs still facing me and says something along the lines "So it must run in your family walking out on people when they need you."
Alan, Andy and Niall where all like "what?! that has nothing to do with what is being spoken about!"

I asked "What do you mean? My dad and my grandfather never left there families" I said it while keeping my voice calm even though I wanted to push her down the stairs.
Then she started talking about my brother and his girlfriends relationship. About how she's pregnant and he doesn't want the kid and how she's keeping it and how they're still going to date but not date date like she's going to help but doesn't want to be the father and stuff like that. I walked down the stairs to face her just as I got to there Alan grabbed my arm and pulled me back saying she's not worth it, how we're going some where else and how much of a low blow that was.
All in all it was a weird dream.

Scott Disick.

I adore this guy and I find myself constantly admiring him when I watch any of the later series of Keeping up with the Kardashians. He was such a douche in the first couple of seasons, he went on drunken rampages, kicked the shit out of Rob Kardashian, wouldn't stop partying even with the love of his life was hiding in the other room but since he cut down on drinking and partying he has actually become my such an inspiration to me.
When he wears outfits like this;

and Tweets Kim things like this:
and acts like this on the show

how could you not love him. He has grown up on the show, he has shown so much of different side of himself to us viewers. He ads more depth to the show with his general wit, sarcasm and sassy nature that he is the reason I still watch even with the last season being so terrible. He was there for Kim when she was going though shit and he has actually became such an active member of the family. Kourtney is lucky to have him :) I love Scott Disick.

Sad enough post.

I have no idea what is going on but in the last week and a half I have seen quite a few of my friends crying and it is really upsetting for me to watch, from break ups to deaths.
I trying to be there while also giving people their space because I know from first hand how horrible it is when you need to be alone and nobody will leave you alone. When you feel like you're going to break down any minute by the suffocating amount of pain you're in... It was also so sad when one of the people said "It's the first person I have been close with to die" and I remember being there. I actually remember saying something very similar to that as well so it really hurt when they said it, but from this side I now see that it's a natural part of life...
It is a horrible thought but we're not going to be here forever but if you want to do something go do it. Go hard or go home! You're going to more bitter about the things you don't do in life than the things you do do :) If you want to go to Brazil go! If you want here is a video that really inspired me.

I don't want my friends to be sad because it sucks to see people that you care about hurting.
Thank you for listening to me ramble about this. I just wanted to get it off my chest.

Feedback is appreciated. The good the bad and of course the beautiful people who read this ;)

An Introduction to me.

Hi, I decided to make a blog. I have no idea what I want to put on here so I might just make short blog updates on my thoughts / opinions.

So here is an introduction to me. I'm Tommy, 21 years old and I live in Letterkenny, Its a nice enough area with nice enough people. I have a job, I work in Dominos Pizza as a Customer Sales Rep at the moment and I love it. I am a massive fan of TV but I love to many shows to list without this become a really long and annoying blog. Maybe that'll be my next blog. Ha!

Well anyway I hope you enjoy. :) Give me feedback.
